2023-2024 Season: CenterStage
Who are we?
We are team 12869 Voyager 6+, a community robotics team. This is our seventh year in FTC. This season, we started with clear goals in mind. Our robotics goal is to build and program an innovative robot that will take us further in our FTC journey. Our outreach goal is to promote the FIRST program in our community, as well as inspire the underserved, underrepresented community, and our fundraising goal is to be a self-funded team. This season, our overarching mission is “TO GROW, TO SERVE, AND TO SPREAD”.
History:
Voyager 6+ started in the fall of 2015 as a FIRST Lego League (FLL) team. We have evolved over the years with new members joining. With 4 FLL members in June 2017, Voyager 6+ competed in the Open European Championships in Aarhus, Denmark, and won the 3rd place inspiration award. The team has now grown to 15 team members. We wanted to challenge ourselves so we entered into the FIRST Tech Challenge for kids 12-17 years old. We plan to use our past experience, share them with others, and continue to use STEM concepts and core values throughout our journey. Voyager 6+ consists of members ranging from 8th grade to 12th grade that come from varying backgrounds of technical expertise. We love many aspects of the FIRST program and how it has helped us grow as a team and make learning fun at the same time.
