What is FTC?
FTC, or First Tech Challenge, is a nonprofit organization that teaches kids, grades 7-12, to learn about robotics. Each year FTC teams design, program, and operate robots to compete in a head to head challenge in an alliance based format. Teams also must raise funds, design and market their team, and do community outreach to help their communities, as well as inspiring other students to pursue STEM. FTC teaches teams to respect other people, have good sportsmanship to everyone, and spread STEM in their communities and beyond. Fresno Qualifiers
On December 2 we attended attended a FTC qualifier in Fresno. We met many teams and learned many new ideas to improve our robot as well as our engineering notebook and shared our knowledge with teams as well. We won the Think Award and Winning Alliance Captain. We learned many things about our robot, such as the reliability of our intake system and linear actuator. This experience was helpful and successful.
